Discount BAK Hot Air Welders

We are pleased to provide the outstanding BAK line of hot air welders. Engineered and manufactured in Switzerland, BAK welders lead the industry in reliability and field performance. They are very similar to the familiar Leister welders, and can be interchanged directly in applications. BAK welders are used on all types of roofing membranes and similar materials including TPO membranes, PVC membranes and Hypalon membranes.

Our BAK hot air welding line includes the BAK Rion, BAK Laron, and BAK Eron hot-air tools.

The BAK Laron is a walk-behind welder very similar to the Leister Varimat-V.
The BAK Laron welder is 220-240VAC, 50-60Hz, 4600 watts, provides consistent wrinkle-free welding on all types of roofing membranes. The Laron uses a step-less adjustable temperature from 20 to 620C, adjustable speed of up to 7meters (23 feet) /minute and a digital readout of temperature and speed.

The BAK Rion, is a compact hand-held hot air welder very similar to
the Leister Triac hand welder. Like the Triac, the BAK Rion welder is 110-120VAC 60 Hz, 1600 watts, and provides outstanding temperature control and ease of use using a step-less temperature controller adjustable from 20 to 650C and an air flow of 250L/minute. Now available in Rion 230V version.

The BAK Eron, is a higher power hand held hot air welder
similar to the Leister Electron hand welder. Like the Electron, the BAK Eron welder is 220-240VAC, 50-60 Hz, 3400 watts. It provides outstanding temperature control and ease of use using a step-less temperature control from 20 to 650C and air flow of 500L/minute.

More BAK Product Information:
The Bak Rion welder can be used to handle many hot air welding needs including your hot air roofing projects. We have in stock many hot air nozzles for overlap welding, speed welding and for welding thermoplastic roof materials.

The Rion is small and lightweight. The Rion heat gun easily meets your most difficult plastic welding, shrinking and overlap welding needs. Interchangeable nozzles are available to fine tune your welding for optimum quality. The Rion welder has heating protection to reduce the danger of getting burned. The Rion has automatic shut-off control should the minimal heater resistance be reached and it is capable of welding at temperatures of up to 650°C. The Rion heat gun is used by plastic fabricating and geo-membrane installers, electrical manufactures, plumbers as well as roofing contractors around the world. It comes with a one-year warranty and is built to last for many years without problems.

The BAK Laron automatic roofing / membrane hot-air welder is compact and easily to use. It is made in Switerland and features a TWO YEAR WARRANTY. The BAK Laron machine provides optimum distribution of the weight on the pressure roller to prevent the development of annoying creases. Radial transmission makes perfect tracking possible. Available kits include 20, 40, 80, 100, and 120 mm welds in addition to a dual weld system. An automatic starter allows separate running-in at the start of the welding process. The Laron welder has a display of SET and ACTUAL value of the welding speed and temperature, as well as the voltage and keeps track of the amount of hours the machine has been used as well as the amount of feet the machine has welded.

HYPALON ROOFING

Hypalon is a synthetic rubber, sometimes called CSPE, is noted for its natural resistance to chemicals, extreme temperatures and ultra-violet light. Typically Hypalon roofing membrane is reinforced and is hot-air weldable. Most Hypalon roofing materials are based on DuPont Hypalon®, chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE) synthetic rubber. In its initial, manufactured form, Hypalon roofing membrane is thermoplastic in nature, which allows it to be hot-air welded. After installation and exposure to the environment, the membrane's individual polymer components cross link forming a highly stable, synthetic rubber material. Once cured to its ultimate strength, Hypalon shows little change in extensibility and provides good resistance to a broad range of chemicals, although ability to weld again is greatly diminished. Hypalon is inherently fire resistant. Hypalon roofing is used for commercial, industrial and institutional applications, especially where strong chemical resistance is required. The material is generally available in white color in thicknesses of 45 mil (1.14 mm) and 60 mil (1.52) thickness in 6 to 7 foot wide rolls.

HYPALON roofing membrane repairs can be made by several methods, depending on the type of repair needed:

  • Using M1 sealant together with TPO primer (around irregular surfaces and penetrations).
  • Scoring surface with a kitchen scrubber, clean with Eternaclean and sealing with Eternabond RoofSeal roof repair tape (easy and suitable for most repairs).
  • Scoring surface with a kitchen scrubber and sealing with EPDM Coverstrip, a reinforced EPDM roof seam tape (VERY strong).
TPO ROOFING

TPO Roofing Membrane is a reinforced thermoplastic polyolefin. It is formulated from a proprietary compound of ethylene propylene rubber and polypropylene. TPO roofing is an environmentally friendly roofing material that provides good weatherability, fire and chemical resistance. The seams and details TPO are hot-air welded. TPO  roofing membrane is thermoplastic in nature, which allows it to be hot-air welded. TPO shows little change in after weathering and provides good resistance to a broad range of chemicals. TPO roofing is used for commercial, industrial and institutional applications. The material is generally available in white color and can be specially ordered in other colors. Rolls are sold in thicknesses of 45 mil, 60 mil and 80 mils in 3 to 12 foot wide rolls.

TPO roofing membrane repairs can be made by several methods, depending on the type of repair needed:

PVC ROOFING

PVC roofing membrane generally contain a high molecular weight, solids phase flexibility agent that will not migrate from the sheet and gives good physical properties, appearance and color after installation and years of exposure to the elements. PVC membrane is used new and re-roofing applications. PVC has some history of getting brittle over time. The membrane comes in standard thickness of 45, 50, 60 and 80-mils in rolls that are typically 6 to 7 feet wide X 100-feet long. One advantage of PVC membrane is that it remains hot-air weldable throughout its life. If new equipment is later added to the roof or other alterations are made, the PVC membrane can cut, repaired and easily re-welded.

PVC roofing membrane repairs can be made by several methods, depending on the type of repair needed:
