PRODUCT: ROOF ACCESS HATCH, 30" x 36", PAINTED RED, 14 GAUGE GALVANIZED STEEL, SELF FLASHING BASE. MODEL 3036, DRAWING #SAH-12-SF, OR EQUIVALENT.
Curb & cap flashing are welded for a watertight construction. Hinges are 2
piece steel, with a heavy duty pivot pin.
CONSTRUCTION FEATURES:
General: Roof access hatch model 3036 type, steel with electro-statically applied, thermally-fused high gloss
powder coating; color Safety RED. A yellow and black striped visual
warning signal is applied top of curb and on inside of lid.
Curb Construction: Curb is 14 Ga. Galvanized steel with 1" solid
mounting surface and is 12" in height with a 3-1/2" flange and mounting
holes for roof attachment; integral cap flashing is of the same material
and thickness as the curb. Curb and cap flashing are fully welded at the
corners for a watertight construction. Hinges are two piece formed steel,
with a non-removable heavy duty pivot pin.
Covers: Cover is tapered; 14 Ga. Galvanized steel, with radius
corners for safety, and fully welded at the corners for a watertight
construction. The cover liner is 22 Ga. The cover is insulated with a 1"
thick fiberglass insulation and reinforced to support a 40lbs/ft live
load. The seal of the hatch lid is provided by an EPDM gasket material
that is mechanically bonded to the lid.
Hardware: Provided hardware includes: An interior handle with
a positive, one-point locking mechanism; exterior handle, and provisions
for a padlock, both inside and out; pre-lubricated compression springs,
encased in zinc-plated telescopic tubes, for smooth and controlled
operation at any position; An automatic, hold-open arm, with a vinyl grip.
All hardware shall be corrosion resistant, and all fasteners shall be of a
self-locking type.
