DESCRIPTION:
LionGUARD Seam Tape is a butyl based seam sealer used for creating lap seams in roofing single-ply membranes. Long-term heat and chemical stability gives LionGUARD Seam Tape to outperform others and keep the ability to remain flexible long term in harsh conditions. Superiorn tack adhesion and shear strength of LionGUARD Seam Tape provide superior holding power for long life and high durability.
APPLICATIONS:
LionGUARD Seam Tapes may be used with typical roofing membranes such as EPDM, TPO and some PVC membranes (check your PVC manufacturer first). Each membrane requires its own specific primer. Seam tape allows for quick installation without hot-air welders.
INSTALLATION:
SEE DATASHEET FOR DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS. Summary - Always clean/prime BOTH sides of membrane seams before installation of seam seal products. Overlap membrane 4 inches or about 1" larger than the size of Seam tape. Install tape into botttom side of seam leaving release paper on the tape. Roll lightly with a steel roller before pulling release paper off. Pull off release paper, fold over top layer. Roll WELL to fuse sealant. Finish the exposed seam edge of upper layer with either edge sealant or added Cover Tape.
