Description:

The new Diamond Series Roof Hatch is designed for safe and easy roof access with higher insulation values to reduce building energy costs.

Opening: Open size at the base is 36 inch X 36 inch.

Construction: 14 gauge galvanized steel with 12 inch high curb and 3-1/2 inch wide base flange for securing to roof deck. Mounted Height is 13.6 inch. All corners are fully welded and mitered. Hinge is a heavy duty box-type. Overall hatch weight is about 162 lbs. Shipping weight about 200 lbs.

Load/Deflection: Steel roof hatch covers have been tested and approved to support requirement of a minimum live load of 40 lbs/ft² with a maximum deflection of 1/150th of the span, maximum negative load of 50 lbs/ft² wind uplift, and 110 mph wind load when cover is in an open position.

Features:

• Springs: Now counterbalanced to comply with OSHA 1023 fall protection regulations for single-hand operation of latches from a ladder. Compression springs are contained in zinc-plated steel cylinders.
• Grip Counterflashing: Features an embossed counterflashing design at the curb top – Diamond Grip™ – enables you to quickly secure roof membrane edge and backing rod without tools or sharp edges.
• Curb: Single wall curb and counterflashing with Diamond Grip to secure roof membrane without tools. 14 gauge galvannealed steel, white textured powder coat paint.
• Cover: Formed and welded with liner, tested to support a live load of 40 psf. 14 gauge with 22 gauge liner galvannealed steel, white textured powder coat paint. Opens to 75 degrees.
• Gasket: Continuous, weatherproof EPDM sponge rubber with adhesive-backed seal.
• Insulation: R-6. The curb includes a 1 inch polyisocyanurate insulation surrounding the base and between the exterior cover and liner.
• Finish: Bright Reflective White powder coat (paintable).
• Latch: Clear zinc-plated steel slam latch with inside and outside handles and padlock hasps. Tested to 50 psf wind uplift.
• Hold Open Arm: Clear zinc-plated automatic locking hold open arm with red vinyl grip for one handed door operation.
• Hinge: Heavy duty clear zinc-plated steel pintle hinge.

• Sizes: Standard in 30 X 54, 30 X 96, 32 X 72, 36 X 30, 36 X 36, 37 X 30, 48 X 48 inch openings. Leadtime may apply to some sizes.
